Not sure who the artist is for this piece, but you should look at the work of the late Helen Cohen. Here's a video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PcZyp9uQdZQ on artists who work with the medium of dioramas. Helen Cohen's work is featured at 6:35. Sadly, not much of her work can be found on the web.
